Staff clarifies when small accessory buildings require permits in Ponte Vedra
Growth Management staff told the board that very small 'handy sheds' (about 150 sq ft or less) may not need building permits but larger finished structures do; staff also said Ponte Vedra zoning has no special exemptions for handy sheds within setbacks.

Jacob Smith of Growth Management answered board questions about when a prefabricated accessory building must obtain a building permit. "I believe it's about 150 square feet," Smith said, adding that once a structure exceeds that size it requires a building permit and wind-load compliance.
