Chairman Gill convened a task force hearing on defending constitutional rights and called diversity, equity and inclusion policies "discriminatory, harmful, and often illegal," framing the session as a review of whether DEI threatens constitutional and statutory protections. "This hearing… on the discriminatory, harmful, and often illegal nature of so called diversity, equity, and inclusion or DEI policies," the chairman said in his opening remarks.
