A lengthy exchange at the Sept. 15 meeting focused on the CDC's mission and priorities. The president (speaker 1) said the CDC has been perceived as focused too heavily on business and called for more community-focused projects such as youth sports facilities, parks and recreation. "We are not an EDC. We are the community developed corporation of Los Fresnos," the president said, urging staff to bring forward proposals for quality-of-life investments.
