Board approves MOU with Teamsters to create roadway technician classifications
The Board approved a memorandum of understanding with Teamsters Local 238 to add 'roadway technician 1' and 'roadway technician 2' classifications combining engineering and maintenance duties; county staff said the change improves recruitment and will not add FTEs.

Anna Knapp (introduced by the HR director) described a memorandum of understanding negotiated with Teamsters Local 238 to establish two new job classifications, Roadway Technician 1 and Roadway Technician 2, which combine duties of engineering technician and roadway maintenance worker positions. Knapp said the union voted to approve the MOU and that the change is intended to improve operational flexibility and recruitment without increasing headcount.
