Lyon County board approves two riverboat grant requests, amends sheriff's shield application
The Lyon County Board approved a Recorder grant and an Ambulance radios grant from the Lyon County Riverboat Foundation, rejected the sheriff's original shield request, then amended it to seek five higher ballistic-level shields.

The Lyon County Board of Supervisors voted Sept. 8 on three Lyon County Riverboat Foundation grant applications tied to public-safety equipment and record preservation. The Recorder's office request to scan veteran discharge books for $996 passed 5-0; an Ambulance request for $43,617.60 in portable radios passed 4-1, with Supervisor Scholten recorded as opposed.
