At the Nevada County CCP meeting, staff reviewed AB 109 realignment and the statute's intent to promote local use of evidence-based probation practices while shifting some costs to counties. Jeff Goldman, chief probation officer, summarized the history and told the group that realignment gave counties broad flexibility "including intermediate sanctions, treatment and behavioral health, reentry supports, jail programming, alternative custody models."
