Board adopts four parking ordinances, asks staff to explore safe overnight parking options
Supervisors adopted no-parking and no-overnight-parking ordinances for East Bennett Road, Lake Van Norden Road, Old State Highway 49 and Combi Road to address litter, safety and blocked access. Commenters and several supervisors urged that the county pursue safe-parking sites and coordinate with churches and nonprofits before enforcing restrictions.

The Board of Supervisors unanimously adopted four separate ordinances that restrict parking and prohibit overnight parking at selected locations on East Bennett Road, Lake Van Norden Road, Old State Highway 49 and Combi Road. Pat Perkins, the county's principal engineer, told the board the sites were chosen after field checks and agency consultation because of repeated litter, blocked access and safety complaints. "The signs need to be visible," Perkins said, adding that enforcement authority enables citation or removal when the restriction is posted.
