PWA hires Dan Clay and begins multi‑year meter upgrade using COEDD/REAP funds

Meeker's PWA reported hiring Dan Clay, imminent wastewater valve repairs, and a meter‑replacement plan that aims to convert roughly half of the town's approximately 400 water meters to electronic, cellular‑enabled devices with help from a COEDD/REAP grant of about $90,000.

At the May 18 Meeker Public Works Authority meeting, Town Administrator Jeff Wilbourn reported that Dan Clay was hired and is in his second week on the job. Wilbourn said the PWA will need to perform repairs at the wastewater plant, including replacing valves that are difficult to access, and planned a multi‑year conversion of older brass, manually read water meters to electronic, cellular‑enabled meters.
