Airport authority budget approved; board hears request for part-time staff

The Meriwether County Airport Authority presented its FY 26-27 budget and capital needs to the board on Sept. 14. Authority chair Mike Watson said the authority had four goals including in-depth revenue/expenditure analysis, capital improvement clarity and improved communications with the board. The authority requested $372,913 for capital projects in 2026–27 and asked the board to consider a dedicated capital-improvement-plan fund to provide predictable local matching funds for airport grants.
