Committee member Alex Kearney pressed district staff on whether the proposed $5,000 for interpretation and translation services is adequate given district demographics. Alex said roughly 11.88% of 1,458 students are limited-English proficient (about 173 students) and that 24% of families list a home language other than English; he asked whether two interpreters and $5,000 in contract funds are sufficient.
