Public Works asked commissioners to authorize signature authority for DEM/FEMA reimbursement related to a December 2025 event and to obligate USDA funding for an emergency reservoir project. The county engineer said the signature-authorization form (SAF) will designate staff to sign documents and certify non-debarment for FEMA/DEM reimbursements, and that eligible costs include debris removal, emergency leachate pumping, detour maintenance and reconstruction of Barnes Drive. "So we are looking, somewhere in the neighborhood of 750,000 to, get reimbursed for this event," the county engineer said.
