Engineer presents Mountain Street stormwater options after modeling shows upstream constraint
Sep 14, 2026
SLR engineer Brian Cote presented a draft Mountain Street scoping study showing a 24‑inch upstream pipe constrains flow into an otherwise 48‑inch system; alternatives include upsizing the first segment, adding catch basins, upstream interception, and sediment traps. The study will be refined with Town feedback.
The full story
SLR International water resources engineer Brian Cote presented draft findings from a Mountain Street storm drainage scoping study, saying essentially all stormwater originates on Hogback Mountain and concentrates on the east side of Mountain Street, overwhelming the existing system during heavy rain. He described field survey work and hydrologic and two‑dimensional overland flow modeling focused on a 25‑year event.
