The Greensville County School Board on Jan. 12 approved the 2026–27 school calendar, carried personnel recommendations presented in closed session, and approved routine consent items and warrants. The board also completed required closed-session certifications under the Code of Virginia.
The board announced the superintendent application period is closed and said interviews will be conducted Jan. 13–26 in accordance with the Code of Virginia; the statement was read during board member reports on Jan. 12.
At a Dec. 15 public hearing, community members told the Greensville County School Board they want a visible, ethical superintendent who listens; commenters suggested supports such as animal-assisted therapy and urged consistent discipline and mental-health services. Board outlined timeline and next steps for hiring.
