The Putnam County Legislature met Oct. 1, 2024. The body issued several proclamations, approved routine budgetary and capital fund transfers, and engaged in a heated debate over a proposed charter amendment changing appointment/removal authority for the county attorney and a related request to retain outside counsel; a motion to remove the charter amendment from the agenda failed and a subsequent motion to end debate carried.
