County staff presented a draft fiscal-year budget and commissioners gave direction to staff to build a FY budget reflecting several cuts, limited new/reclassified positions, a 3% across‑the‑board pay increase for employees, an increase to longevity benefits, select capital investments and a proposed slight reduction to the property tax rate for public hearing.
