The Marathon County Human Resources & Finance Committee met to approve minutes, consider tax-deed actions on delinquent parcels and whether to attach deed restrictions, and to decide county responses to utility taxation legislation. The committee approved multiple funding requests from contingency funds for local economic development and a historical society celebration, and voted on an easement request from Wausau Public Service. Facilities provided a quarterly energy and campus update including utility-management actions, vacant-building carrying costs, and early demolition cost estimates for a UWMC dormitory. The committee also reviewed an improved state General Transportation Aid estimate and discussed opportunities under the Wisconsin innovation grant for consolidation or service-sharing with municipalities.
