The Rutherford County Public Safety Committee met Oct. 27, 2025, to receive monthly reports from animal control, risk management, courts, probation, correctional facilities, emergency services, EMS, fire/rescue and the sheriff's office. Members approved routine reports, several grant applications and budget amendments, and voted to let the mayor sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for a unified dispatch study with Murfreesboro, Smyrna and La Vergne, a measure that prompted extended legal questions about Tennessee Code Annotated and 9-1-1 board authority. Committee members also approved a juvenile detention contract with Warren County, multiple sheriff's office budget amendments and grants, and several personnel reclassifications and scholarship-funded paramedic training slots.
