Wakefield Public Schools curriculum leaders presented the districts 2025 MCAS results and outlined ongoing curriculum changes across ELA, math and science. The district reported that grades 3 8 met or exceeded pre-pandemic levels in both ELA and math and received recognition from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Curriculum coordinators described a districtwide rollout of a structured writing program (Empower), continued adoption of universal screeners (DIBELS and I-Ready), and a multi-year shift to phenomena-based science units. The committee approved routine minutes, moved several policies to be laid on the table for two-week consideration and held other procedural votes.
