The Springfield City audit subcommittee on Feb. 5, 2026 heard an internal audit of the Springfield Public Schools food service contract with Sodexo, which found several high-risk issues — possible double-billing of management fees, a missing $300,000 contribution, an overcharge later recouped, improper use of city vehicles, insurance shortfalls and gaps in CORI checks. Committee members asked for follow-up and the school department said it will clarify contract language in the upcoming RFP.
