County presenters introduced Ready Nevada County (Ready, Set, Go), described the three-tier approach to wildfire preparedness (ready/set/go), explained defensible space and home hardening (mesh vents, noncombustible decking), and recommended go-bag contents and checks for 72-hour evacuation readiness.
The Nevada County Board of Supervisors met March 26, 2024. The meeting opened with a Ready Nevada County wildfire-preparedness presentation, introduction of ZoneHaven evacuation zones, routine consent items and public comment, presentations from the Nevada County Arts Council and Social Services, Truth Act community forum from the Sheriff's Office, adoption of a two-year Economic Development Action Plan, authorization of a seed contract for a Western Nevada County Community Foundation, release of the county's National Community Survey results, a Public Health Week proclamation and adoption of the 5-year Capital Improvement Plan.
