City of Newberry commission met Feb. 23, 2026. Commissioners unanimously approved two city-initiated land-use and rezoning ordinances to reclassify nine city-owned parcels as public facilities; they also opened extended discussion (no vote) on changing kennel and small-animal boarding rules and asked staff to return with options. Staff presented a proposed nuisance-abatement process for later consideration.
