The Athens City Planning Commission met Feb. 5 and recommended that City Council annex roughly 30–38 acres on Cable Lane and designate it R-1 residential. Commissioners also discussed upcoming public engagement on a neighborhood corridor overlay, code updates to address tiny homes, Conestoga huts, container homes and accessory dwelling units (ADUs), and received updates on two proposed affordable housing projects.
