At a June 12 St. Bernard Village Committee of the Whole meeting, council held a special council session and unanimously adopted Ordinance 17 (emergency hiring of a director of public services and safety). Council also placed several appropriation and ordinance items on the table for later meetings and discussed parking-lot easement issues, a $30,000 planning grant, and a damaged fire engine needing costly repairs.
