On Oct. 27, 2020, the Charlotte County Planning Commission held a public hearing on Courthouse Solar LLC’s conditional use permit for a proposed 167 MW, ~1,354-acre solar facility. After public comment and negotiation of conditions addressing wetlands buffers, traffic on Shady Oaks Road, endangered species, and decommissioning, the commission voted unanimously to recommend approval to the Board of Supervisors with conditions.
