At its Sept. 12, 2023 meeting in Franklin, the Macon County Board of Commissioners approved multiple federal transit grant applications, adopted a parks-and-recreation master plan, and approved a broadband agreement for Nantahala. The board also held a contentious debate over Franklin High School construction funding that produced two opposing 3-2 votes and approved construction documents and a budget amendment.
