Vice Chair Robert Campbell opened the Bond Oversight Committee’s first meeting of 2026, noted 10 members attending in person and two online, and reviewed the BOC charter charging the committee with oversight to recommend against bond expenditures when information is insufficient or projects appear imprudent. He thanked broadcast and interpretation staff and introduced the agenda order.
The Los Angeles Unified Bond Oversight Committee met Jan. 29, 2026, approved several bond-funded projects including two critical replacement projects (conversion of Virgil Middle School’s synthetic turf to natural turf and a like-for-like track replacement at Santi Education Complex), advanced a slate of 44 board/regional priority projects, reviewed progress on Palisades fire recovery and a 2026 bid schedule, and authorized a districtwide campus camera upgrade program.
