Chair of the House Committee on General and Housing opened the session and said the committee would discuss S.230, a narrowed proposal incorporating part of the Senate’s H.205 noncompete work. Chair said the committee is not yet inserting the language into S.230 but is exploring a constrained option suggested by House Commerce members.
The House Committee on General and Housing heard testimony and staff briefings April 14 on a narrowed noncompete provision proposed for S.230 (drawing from H.205) and reviewed draft amendments to S.328 covering common-interest community resources, supportive housing funding, and universal-design elements in a housing pilot. Committee members debated the scope of any noncompete ban, teacher-contract interactions and wage thresholds before scheduling further witnesses and a field trip.
