The St. Joseph County Area Plan Commission met April 21, 2026. The commission voted to send two zoning text amendments to the county council with favorable recommendations: one to permit private active parks in the industrial district (APC 3083-26) and one to allow accessory dwelling units and revise multi-family standards in the R single-family district (APC 3084-26). Staff also presented a draft unified development ordinance for the town of New Carile.
