The East Grand Forks City Council met Aug. 5, 2025. Council held a public hearing and gave first readings to ordinances updating a natural-gas franchise and adding a franchise fee for Northern States Power (doing business as Xcel); approved a range of consent items (plats, MnDOT lighting agreement, refuse contract assignment) and adopted a winter-program fee schedule and a microtransit feasibility plan after debate.
