The Davis Climate and Environmental Justice Commission met to hear the city’s solid-waste program update, discuss revisions to the environmental-recognition awards program (including a council recommendation), and consider a liaison approach to coordinate with the Transportation Commission on the Climate Action and Adaptation Plan. Staff reported that state rule changes will add thousands of tons to Davis’s landfill totals and likely lower the city’s reported diversion rate, and the commission voted to forward the awards restart recommendation to city council with a requested change to the screening-panel makeup.
