Summary
After receiving five bids for an NRCS Emergency Watershed Protection project, commissioners accepted the low bid from ERS Incorporated ($917,917) and authorized staff to proceed with the contract award per engineer recommendation.
Hardin County Commissioners Court accepted a low bid and authorized award for NRCS Emergency Watershed Protection construction work on Dec. 23.
Purchasing agent Misty Sims reported five bids: ERS Incorporated ($917,917), DSP Development ($918,243.39), McInnis Construction ($947,166), BJ Hanson ($969,800), and another bidder at $1,026,015. Sims and county staff said the engineer who reviewed the bids had worked with ERS before and had no concerns. Commissioners moved to accept the apparent low bidder, ERS Incorporated, and the motion passed by voice vote.
The court discussed bidder familiarity with federal NRCS requirements and confirmed staff and engineers recommend award to the low responsive bidder. The contract award will proceed according to procurement rules and with contract documents prepared by county purchasing and engineering staff.
