Summary
The committee approved Resolution 16R 26 to enter a professional services agreement with "the Man Group" for the village's 2026 pavement maintenance program; Village Engineer Chris Dobkins outlined targeted neighborhoods, several spot repairs and a culvert project, and a schedule for design, bidding, award and construction.
The Public Improvement Safety Committee voted to approve Resolution 16R 26, authorizing a professional services agreement with "the Man Group" for the 2026 pavement maintenance program. Trustee Bogie moved the motion and Mr. James seconded; the committee recorded 'aye' and the motion carried.
Village Engineer Chris Dobkins told the committee the pavement maintenance program includes resurfacing and projects that are too large for public works but too small to bid as standalone jobs. He said the program's highlights include work in Hawkesview, closing Summerhawk as part of Forest Hills improvements to take advantage of quiet traffic conditions, continued work in Ralston South, and inclusion of Obispo and Old Harlem Road as alternates from last year's project. He also identified the Meyer Ponds area as needing spot repairs and described a culvert replacement at Crimson and Bluebonnet that may require removal and replacement of concrete headwalls.
Dobkins outlined the schedule: "we'd like to... move forward with design in March and early April, bid the project out and have a contract awarded in June, do the work during the summertime and get the restoration done kind of at the August so that we're in kind of peak growing season for getting their turf restoration reestablished." He said staff recommends moving forward with design and the procurement process.
The committee recorded no substantive discussion or questions before voting. The next steps are to proceed with design, advertise the project for bids, and seek contract award in June with construction to occur during the summer months and restoration by August.
