On procurement, county staff opened multiple bids for a ship/chip-seal package and for a paving package. Bid amounts for the paving package ranged from about $1.26 million to $1.64 million; the commissioners voted to hold all bids for review by the Morrow County Engineer's Office before awarding contracts. The board similarly moved to hold earlier chip-seal bids for engineer review.
The commissioners approved several financial housekeeping items, including proof of bills, transfers affecting the general fund and the first-quarter 2026 investment report. They also journalized the county treasurer's cash sheet for March 31, 2026.
On infrastructure spending, the board approved appropriations of certified monies for ditch funds including payments to McKibben Construction for $2,080.46, Kidded maintenance for $1,504.02 and Kummer maintenance for $70.03.
The commissioners reviewed two quotes for a replacement 2024 Ford Transit maintenance vehicle and voted to purchase the vehicle for an out-the-door price of $32,436. Commissioner Siegfried moved the purchase and the motion was seconded and approved by roll call.
Jamie, representing the county at the visitor bureau, outlined tourism-focused projects including an updated county business/tourism directory and a short promotional video to be shown outside the county. Jamie said the county will explore an NBC4 "day-trip" segment as a paid opportunity to promote local businesses.
After considering the agenda items, the board adjourned.
