HVAC IAQ Building Committee: roof work slowed by weather; teams plan after-hours and April-break pushes

Summary
At a March 27 meeting, the HVAC IAQ Building Committee heard project-manager updates that roof repairs at Fairfield Woods were delayed by ice and snow; crews returned and aim to finish remaining work during afternoons, Saturdays or April break. North Stratfield condensation and Tomlinson painting schedules were also discussed.
The HVAC IAQ Building Committee met March 27 and heard progress reports on multiple school projects, including Fairfield Woods, North Stratfield, Osborne Hill and Tomlinson.
Jesse, a project representative, told the committee that Young Developers returned to Fairfield Woods and completed most tasks but were sent back to correct several items. "So my target is to wrap this all up, in the next couple weeks by April break," Jesse said, adding that roughly 18 pitch boxes remain and that crews may work after hours or on Saturdays to avoid disrupting school operations.
The update outlined constraints: some roof repairs require cutting into the membrane and create noise, so daytime work while school is in session is difficult. Jesse said the team is considering second shifts or Saturday work and expects to have a clearer answer about contractor availability soon.
At North Stratfield, Jesse reported progress on the SPA punch list and said Kevin from SPA will perform a final walk next week. He also described condensation beneath the stage and potential mitigation: vents, slats or a fan-based ventilation scheme that will be developed after a site visit by Jeff. "The whole idea is just to ventilate the space under the stage, so we'll figure out some kind of scheme with a fan and some kind of ventilation system," Jeff said, and he indicated a site visit was likely the following Monday.
At Osborne Hill, the committee discussed Door 160 (an interior APR door to the lunchroom) and coordination with a Parks & Recreation day camp scheduled during April break. Jesse and staff said they are exploring contingency plans and may defer certain work to the summer if the camp occupies the lunchroom.
Tomlinson is largely on schedule, Jesse reported: ceiling painting in the main gym north side and duct work are being wrapped up, with additional painting planned the week of April 6 and a summer push planned for remaining steel and unit installations.
Committee members pressed for timing estimates and crew sizes. Jesse estimated the pitch-box corrective work at about 3–4 boxes per day for a 3–4 person crew, meaning roughly four to five days of work depending on weather.
The committee also reviewed ATPs affecting Tomlinson, including an RFI-driven change that requires two soffits instead of the one shown in the drawings; staff said that issue will generate an ATP for construction and framing work.
The committee set follow-up items: confirm contractor availability for after-hours or weekend work, schedule the Jeff site visit for the North Stratfield stage area and bring warranty/photo evidence updates from Suprema back to the committee at the next meeting.
